Here’s the video of nearly the whole process involving the making of the sand moulds and pouring of the bronze. It was great! great experience and great learning one of the oldest casting techniques. Will definitively try this again, possibly during the summer at the DoJ foundry just before the residency programe runs out!
These are photos of the making, some that will complemet the video of the silicate sand casting. The mounting of the moulds, rivetting and final stages before pouring the bronze were not caught on camera but are fairly visible here.
